A positive result is evidence. A clean one is not: most AI output loses its records the moment it is re-saved or uploaded. And no tool can reliably tell who wrote a piece of text.

How to tell if a website was made with AI
A website has no single AI watermark, so the checker looks in three places. The code: AI site builders leave fingerprints — a script, a badge, a default description, the domain they publish to. The images: each one is a file that can carry C2PA Content Credentials or an IPTC “made by AI” label. And the text: checked for the phrasings chat models overuse, which is a guess and is labelled as one. What no tool can see is code written with ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor and deployed by hand — it looks exactly like code a person wrote.

How can you tell if a website was made with AI?
Look in three places. The code: AI site builders such as Lovable, v0 and Bolt leave fingerprints — an editor script, a badge, a default page description, or the domain they publish to. The images: generated images can carry C2PA Content Credentials or an IPTC “made by AI” label. And the text, though any verdict on text is a guess from style. This checker does all three and tells you which one each finding came from.
Which AI website builders can it detect?
Lovable, v0, Bolt, Replit, Base44, Anything (Create), Gamma, 10Web, Mixo, Dora and Durable as AI builders; Framer, Wix, Webflow, Squarespace, Hostinger, GoDaddy and Figma Sites as conventional builders that have added AI features. Can it tell if the code was written with ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor?
No, and no tool honestly can. Code written with an AI assistant and deployed by hand looks exactly like code written by a person once it is published. What can be detected is the builder platform a site was generated on, because those platforms leave their own marks.
Why does it say “builder with AI features” rather than “made with AI”?
Because the evidence stops there. Framer, Wix and Webflow all offer AI generation, but most sites on them were built by hand, and nothing in the published page says which. We tell you the builder and leave it at that rather than guess.
Why does it say the page is drawn by JavaScript?
Some sites — including most made with AI builders — send an empty page and fill it in with a script afterwards. A checker that reads the page sees the shell, not the content, so the text and images cannot be checked. The builder fingerprints usually still show, because they are in the shell.
Why could my site not be checked?
Usually because it blocks automated visitors — Cloudflare and similar services turn many checkers away, and we identify ourselves honestly rather than pretending to be a browser. Pages behind a login cannot be checked either. You can still check a site’s images one at a time with the AI watermark checker.
What happens to the address I enter?
Our server fetches that page and up to twelve of its images, reads them, and sends you the result. Nothing is stored, and the address is not logged or sent to analytics.
