You may be able to switch it off instead

Since August 2026, Gemini and Flow have a Media Watermark setting that turns off the visible watermark on future images, video and music from Nano Banana, Omni and Lyria. It is not offered on every account or in every country. Where you have it, turning it off beats filling a mark afterwards. This tool is for images you already made with the mark on.

What stays, whatever you do

Google keeps its invisible SynthID watermark and C2PA metadata on Gemini output even with the visible mark switched off. SynthID survives this tool too, because it lives in the pixels. C2PA is metadata, and our download is a new file, so that part stays in your original.

Removing the Gemini watermark, step by step

01Check whether you can switch the visible watermark off in Gemini’s settings for future images.
02For an image you already have, save it from Gemini and drop it in here.
03Drag a box over the sparkle with a small margin.
04Press “Remove watermark”, compare before and after, then download.

QUESTIONS

Before you start

Does this remove SynthID?

No. SynthID is carried in the pixels themselves, not drawn on top of them, and we make no attempt to interfere with it. Only the visible sparkle is removed, so the image can still be identified as made by Google’s AI.

What about the C2PA record?

The image you download is a new file, so the C2PA record inside Gemini’s original is not carried over to it. Your original is never modified. Keep it if you need the record.
