Before you start

What about marks that move?

They work. Switch on “The mark moves — follow it” and the box you draw is located again on each frame, so only the mark itself is filled rather than everything it passes over. Where the match is briefly uncertain the box holds its last position rather than jumping somewhere wrong. Each frame is still filled on its own, so fast motion can shimmer slightly. TikTok moves its overlay, as did Sora on clips saved before it shut down, while Veo, Kling and Runway keep theirs still, and the video guide explains why that matters.

Will the video be re-compressed?

Yes — the frames have to be re-encoded after filling. We keep the original resolution and frame rate and encode at a high bitrate, but it is not lossless.

Is there a length limit?

Free cleans the first 10 seconds of any clip at up to 720p, so you can see the result on your own footage. The whole clip, up to 10 minutes and 4K, needs a $3.99 24-hour pass or $12 Pro, both one-time and still running on your device.

Editing the rest of the clip

Once the mark is gone, the clip may still need cutting, cropping or titles. Movavi Video Editor is a desktop editor that does those, including cropping that tracks the subject and keeps it centred.

Movavi says its free version may, depending on the build, add a watermark to exported clips and cap them at 60 seconds. The paid version removes those limits.
