This is for your own videos

The overlay on a TikTok download is the creator’s username. On a video you made, that is your own credit, and taking it off to post the clip elsewhere is ordinary cross-posting. On someone else’s video it is their credit, and removing it is exactly what this site is not for.

Why cross-posters take it off

Instagram told creators in February 2021 that Reels “visibly recycled from other apps (i.e. contains logos or watermarks)” make the experience less satisfying, and that it was making that content less discoverable in places like the Reels tab.

Reposting other people’s clips will not help you anyway

In April 2026 Instagram extended its originality rules from Reels to every post type. Adam Mosseri said that watermarks, minor crops or basic reposts are unlikely to qualify as original, so an account built on other people’s videos loses its reach whether the overlay is there or not.

How the overlay moves, and what the tool does about it

TikTok’s overlay changes position during a clip. The tracker follows a mark that moves gradually, frame to frame. When the overlay jumps to another part of the frame, it searches the whole frame and moves the mask there, but only when the match is strong; if it is not sure, it holds its last position rather than guess. For marks that sit still, the general video watermark remover is the simpler place to start.

Removing the TikTok watermark, step by step

01Start from the cleanest copy you have. If you still have the video as you recorded or edited it before posting, use that; there is nothing to remove.
02Otherwise, save your video from TikTok, and trim off any branded end screen.
03Drop the clip into the tool, box the username where it first appears, and leave “The mark moves — follow it” switched on.

Can I repost someone else’s video with this?
